A good rule of thumb is that series have a conventional name and are intentional creations , on the part of the author or publisher. For now, avoid forcing the issue with mere "lists" of works possessing an arbitrary shared characteristic, such as relating to a particular place.

Avoid series that cross authors, unless the authors were or became aware of the series identification eg. Also avoid publisher series, unless the publisher has a true monopoly over the "works" in question. So, the Dummies guides are a series of works. But the Loeb Classical Library is a series of editions, not of works. Home Groups Talk Zeitgeist. You can read about this and more about Vanetta Chapman on her website. What a fine ending… Vannetta does an excellent job ending the series. This short story begins with Grace, daughter to Gabe and Miriam, who is all grown up and in a courtship with Adam Lapp. Christmas is coming… how will Grace and Adam celebrate? When they meet an Englisch lady who has been searching for Grace, what surprises will the future hold?

Will Grace be tempted away from the Amish way of life? Will she leave Adam to pursue a career in the Englisch world? Many new exciting events take place in this story, but rest assured everyone ends up having a Happy Christmas. And the ending is always one of grace. Nov 14, Jim rated it it was amazing. I enjoyed the story so much that I'm sure it won't be my last story in the series. It was Christmas Eve in the Amish community of Pebble Creek, and when teaching assistant Grace Miller left school that day, little did she know that her life was about to change dramatically.

She and her beau Adam Lapp joined another couple for an afternoon of snowshoeing. Afterwards, the two encountered a stranded motorist named Audrey, who Grace invited to dinner with her family while Audrey waited to be picked up by a coworker. And afterwards, nothing would be the same again for Grace, but to say much more would be a spoiler.

I loved the characters - the Amish with their family-oriented, down-to-earth ways, reminiscent of a life that most Americans can only read about now. Narrated from Grace's point of view, the story moved quickly with no wasted words to a surprise ending that was very satisfying. It was a marvelous introduction to the Pebble Creek Amish. Jan 30, Betty rated it it was amazing. A very short but wonderful story of Grace Miller before she wed Adam Lapp. She was working as a teacher's assistant and loving it. The teacher, Sylvia Bena was the teacher and Grace's mentor. Grace learned a lot from her and enjoyed their working together.

    See a Problem?

Unfortunately Sylvia became ill and was eventually replaced by Maudi Bricker, another good teacher but not the same as Sylvia for Grace. One night Grace and Adam were riding to her house when they stopped to help a stranded motorist, Audrey. It turned out that Audrey was actually looking for Grace to offer her a job as an illustrator. At the time Grace was still happy with her position as an assistant teacher and turned Audrey down. Several days later Adam proposed to Grace and her life began to change. I found this to be a wonderful 'visit' back to the Pebble Creek and the characters of earlier books.

It was a nice comfortable and fun visit! I am looking forward to more from Pebble Creek! Dec 02, Elyse rated it really liked it Shelves: xmas-books , no-longer-own , free-ebooks , gr-challenge This was a cute Christmas story. Dec 24, Pam Pavkov rated it it was amazing. This story tells of great love but not just between a young Amish couple but also a great teacher, Bena and her assistant Grace Lapp. I enjoyed getting a glimpse back at some of the characters in The Pebble Creek Amish series. The story even though it was short had a wonderful theme to it. I was happy to see that a chance encounter on Christmas Eve was a step for Grace to continue what she loves so much, drawing.

I was given a complimentary eBook copy of this book to read. I was not approached by anyone to post a favorable review. I have rated this book with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story. Congratulations to Vanetta Chapman on delivering another outstanding story for her readers to enjoy.

Dec 29, Crystal rated it really liked it. This is the story of Gracie and Adam, two young Amish people who are falling in love. It is such a cute story. One wintry day after coming back from a day spent with friends, she and Adam help a stranded motorist. Have I piqued your interest? Will this Amish young woman take a job working for the Englisch? Will she and Adam get married? If you like Amish romances, clean reads, New Adult stories, then I definitely recommend! Dec 18, Ria rated it it was amazing.

A lovely little Christmas novella. When Grace Miller leaves school for the Christmas holidays she is looking forward to spending time with her family, doing some drawings and indulging her love of art and spending time with her sweetheart Adam Lapp. But on the way home she meets a broken down car with a lady called Audrey inside. Unbeknownst to Grace the lady has always wanted to meet Grace and is a fan of her art and owns several of her works and was hoping to meet her to ask her to do some illust A lovely little Christmas novella.

Unbeknownst to Grace the lady has always wanted to meet Grace and is a fan of her art and owns several of her works and was hoping to meet her to ask her to do some illustrations for a book for children she is working on. A chance and providential meeting that Grace believes is ordained by God changes the course of Grace's life and her life in the Amish community.
